DT Vending began as a simple idea that has evolved into a thriving family-run company deeply rooted in the local community. Our mission is to transform dead floor space into opportunities, helping local venues earn income with minimal hassle, and building lasting partnerships based on mutual trust.
We pride ourselves on clear communication, honest advice, and unwavering reliability, whether we’re servicing a play centre, caravan park, café, or community hub. From sourcing your favourite snacks to responding swiftly when support is needed, our team delivers consistency, integrity, and a personal touch.
That’s the difference you’ll notice with a family business that truly cares.
DT Vending started in a simple, unexpected way.
While visiting friends one day, my son Lewis spotted a classic lolly vending machine that was being sold. He was immediately keen to have it. Vending wasn’t something we’d ever considered as a business, but there was clear enthusiasm, and a spark worth exploring.
We agreed on one condition: Lewis had to find somewhere to site the machine and make it work.
He made a call to a family friend, Russ, who owned a bowling alley in Bridgend, explained the idea, and offered a commission on sales. Russ agreed – and just like that, DT Vending was born.
That first unit was a classic Beaver gumball and lolly machine. While the lolly side regularly broke down, the machine proved popular. We adapted, replacing the lolly unit with a sweet tower sourced from a local supplier we found online, who turned out to be family friends, Paul and Rob from Hurley’s Sweets. From there, things began to fall into place.
Slowly and steadily, we built our inventory – from sweet towers to Pringles machines and other formats – always learning, adapting, and improving along the way. Many people helped us grow, including Christian from All Things Nice, who helped secure further locations such as play centres.
We’ve also been fortunate to build strong friendships within the industry. People like Barbara Fellowes, Janet and John Turner, and John Gibson all played a vital role in our journey, offering invaluable advice, support, and expertise.
What began with a single machine and a simple idea has grown into the family-run business we operate today – still hands-on, still relationship-driven, and still focused on doing things properly.
